I cannot talk with respect to other parsers. But for our PerfParse
project it would be better to report no data for this example. The gap
will then be ignored during data analysis, which will join the previous
good value to the next good value parsed.
Ie:
| rta=23.4ms;warn;crit;; pl=0%;warn;crit;;
Or:
| pl=100%;warn;crit;;
I believe as well that RRD storage parsers would also prefer no data,
since that system can handle the gap in it's own programmable ways.
Maybe this would be a good command line parameter, then users can choose
for them selves what to do?
Hope this is of some use, I know there are lots of people out there keen
to use the performance data from your plugin :)
