Hi Duncan,
realy nice idea, but why don't you take the adaptive monitoring feature
for this?
It is not as nice to configure like your example, but doesn't need your
nagios hack.
Some kind of cronjob or eventhandler on the right place to execute the
external command "CHANGE_SVC_CHECK_COMMAND" should do the trick.
