actually I have a load of
 9.00, 8.43, 8.09 (from 'top')

Mem:   2594632k total,  1576864k used,  1017768k free,   354084k buffers

Cause Nagios getting more exciting for my bosses and nagios 3 will
(hopefully) do its job nicer with the new host check logic - I think
can get some newer hardware ;)
