It adds the ability to limit what is displayed from the logfile.

This is what grep does.

A large log file can be hard to read making it easy to miss what you're 
looking for.

Oddly, this is exactly the problem that grep solves...

That is up to you. I needed to do this this morning so I wrote the code 
to do it. You can take it or leave it.

I apologise for my message being terse but as I started writing it I was 
called away to work on something else and I figured people would know 
what was implied by 'grep support'.
