I thought the Net::SNMP from CPAN would suffice I'll try net-snmp first
thing in the morning.
when you say 'see you configure errors' do you mean check_snmp has the
sprintf errors I got with check_ifstatus? : )
and actually I was looking for the check_snmp.c file itself which I just
found in the plugins directory!

OS info:
Linux version 2.4.18-10 (gcc version 2.96 (Red Hat Linux 7.3))
snippet of the code? or error message?
the error message is similar to:
bash: ./checkciscotemp.pl: /usr/bin/perl: bad interpreter: Permission
denied
that one is when I try to run the check cisco temp perl plugin with a -h
option.
I've gone through so many iterations I've forgotten the exact file that
gave me this problem I'll post when I test them again. On the whole I
have nagios doing checks I need, the error prone ones are to better the
setup.

post through another!
