External Commands not working anymore

Hey Gang!

Nagios all of a sudden has decided to stop taking external commands from
the web interface.

This should be sufficient permissions

[root at mnmslx11 rw]# ls -la
total 8
drwxrws---    2 nagios   nagiocmd     4096 Oct 16 10:40 .
drwxrwxr-x    4 nagios   nagios       4096 Oct 16 10:45 ..
prw-rw----    1 nagios   nagiocmd        0 Oct 16 10:40 nagios.cmd

External commands is turned on in the nagios.cfg file

check_external_commands=1

And lastly, nagios is running

[root at mnmslx11 rw]# ps -ef | grep -c nagios
12

Anybody got any ideas???
