host Non-OK, does it get pounded?

Good morning,

So, i understand that if a service is Non-Ok, then the host gets pounded
until max attempts and then the service is rescheduled using its
normal_check_interval and that the service notifications are squelched.

What happens during the subsequent service checks though? On the next
normally scheduled service check, if the host is still Non-OK, then does the
host get pounded again??

thanks
dean
