SMTP Critical but SMTP is working

I believe there is a fix for this in the plugins cvs. I know we've covered it before. Some MTAs expect QUIT\r and some expect QUIT\r\n. It's a fairly straightforward modification to check_smtp.c as sending \r\n all the time doesn't break anything. That's my recollection of the problem and resolution.

I am running latest beta of Nagios on my RH7.3 box and here is what I get from check_smtp
 
./check_smtp mail.nycity.com   
SMTP OK - 0 second response time
Socket timeout after 10 seconds

Mail runs on Domino and IS working fine.  Domino also runs on Linux RH7.3.  I am not sure if this is related to a misconfigured Domino or nagios is not seeing something.
 
P.S. It works against a sendmail server on the same network.
