Alright, got this problem solved.  Anyone having problems with the
statusmap.cgi on FreeBSD, here is the solution.  In short, this particular
cgi relies on gd and the configure script can't find it if you've
installed the port.  It must be gd 1.6.3 or higher.  Check pkg_info and
see if you have gd installed.  If not, it should be in
/usr/ports/graphics/gd.  Run your configure script with
--with-gd-lib=/usr/local/lib/ --with-gd-inc=/usr/local/include/gd/
as options and it should detect the port version of gd.  Continue with
installation as normal and it should install the statusmap.cgi.  This
worked for me.  If you have any trouble, feel free to contact me.
