Hi

Nagios monitors devices through external nagios plugins and yes you are 
half-right, it is determined based on MACROS passed. You must add host 
xxx.xxx.xx.xxx into the hostgroups.cfg file as a member. I would suggest you 
read the Nagios docs. :-)
