Reporting Notifications

I get this message:

"Error: Cannot open log file 
'/usr/local/nagios/var/archives/nagios-07-19-2003-00.log' for reading!   "

What is the problem? the permissions in /usr/local/nagios/var/archives 
are  "777", the same in "/usr/local/nagios/var/".
Someone can help me?
