All v1.3.0 plugins went by RFC1035 which stated that dns names should
always begin with a character.
As pointed out on Apr 22 - RFC1123 relaxes the condition to allow a digit
in addition to a character.
utils.c was patched in CVS.
Can you try the 1.3 cvs snaphot?
