multiple parents

It sounds like you are confusing dependencies with parents. You can
define multiple parents for a host in hosts.cfg and that will affect the
status map. You can create a dependencies.cfg with a host dependency A
being dependent on B & C.

Subject: [Nagios-users] multiple parents
We have a ring network.
-----
A
-----

----- -----
| B | | C |
----- -----

-----
N

meaning that if one router goes down, the computers behind it are still
reachable via the other side of the ring.
in the diagram above N=Nagios.
A has parents B & C.
how will nagios handle the unreachability of host A?
wil it report 'host a unreachable' when both B & C are down (which is
correct) or as soon as just one them is down or doesn't nagios support
multiple parents at all?
and what if both B & C are down, but A is still up and reachable via a
transit line (thus outside our ring).
