Monitoring R/3 SAP

I looked into this a couple years ago using a perl module for R/3 but it was
decided to roll it in to different monitoring. Time permitting I'd be
interested in helping get something going however. I'm not actually part of a
basis team but I might be able to get an account in R/3 which would give me
read access to the needed data. As far as I ever got (quite a while ago) I was
able to make connections to SAP ... just never got as far as *checking*
anything.
