redundancy and nsca

i have a nagios server and i want to do redundancy
i have send_nsca on the first server and nsca on the second
i define the command submit_check_result_via_nsca in checkcommand.cfg
i seem to work because i have the good status and line like this in the log
external command : process_service_check_result : PING OK

but for the services which are not OK i have the good result in the log but 
in the web interface
service or hosts appears UP  ( even if the status information is : CRITICAL 
plugins timed out )

i just want that the hosts and services which are down appears down on the 
web interface of the redundant server
