Subject: [Nagios-users] fast reboot
hey guys,
what if we are monitoring a server in the interval of 2 minutes then the
server we are monitoring went down but was able to reboot in just 45
seconds? How does nagios takes care of this situation?
Chances are great that nagios wouldn't even notice. A check would have
to occur within that 45 second window to fail once. Assuming that you
have a max_check_attempts of 1 then nagios would flag it as critical,
but on the next check it would be OK. IANAStatistician, but I think
there's a 1 in 3 chance that nagios would be checking when the service
was down during that 2 minute window.
