You've got multiple nagios processes running most likely. Your admin will need to stop nagios, kill any remaining processes and restart the program.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Problems with submit_check_result
Hello!
I wrote a program which makes a complicated test of a service on several
machines. Now
I try to send the result with submit_check_result to a central service.
I send the result
every 2 minutes ( I also tried 5 minutes) .
I have the effect that nagios display that an error occured but after a
short
time the result disappear and after a another short time it will
re-appear. The problem is that couldn't set
an ack because of this behavior.
I checked the output of the script twice, it looks okay
I'm not the nagios admin, but responsible for the test. Is this a
"normal" problem, or are there
some parameters I should look at.
hope somebody can help
bye!
