512 byte limit on PROCESS STATUS output?

Is there a configuration option for changing the 512 byte limit that 
nsca returns to nagios?  I'm not sure if the limitation is on the 
nsca_send command or the nagios receiver.

Any hints or leads are greatly appreciated.
