Servicecheck Problem after Update to 1.2

Hi there,

i just updated from Nagios 1.0 to 1.2 and the Servicechecks are no longer running properly.
I get the following:

[1087897089] Warning:  Check of service 'FTP' on host 'cust001' did not exit properly!

where could the problem be?
I am using nagios-plugins 1.3.0.
