Yes (I love doing that) :). Nothing's permanent, but the database stuff
caused more trouble than it was worth, so Ethan decided to drop it for now.

There is a list archive at sourceforge. Browse it for a while, and also
read the 2.0 changelog. It'll tell you the why's as well as the what's
(to some extent anyways).
