About how nagios notification works

Hi, All

 

I am using nagios 1.2 as the network monitoring system in our company. And I
am having trouble sending email to the contacts by notification; I believe
there is nothing wrong with the nagios configuration of the notification
part includes the nagios.cfg file and the hosts.cfg file. Instead, I think
there is something wrong with the linux utility which nagios use to send the
email and I wonder what utility is and how to set it up to make it work for
nagios.

Any help will be highly appreciated
