Nagios and RRDTOOL

Hi,

after trying to find something about this on google ...

I'll like to have an answer please about this :

nagios & rrdtool : ping stats for example , mails sents , etc ...

how to integrate rrdtool in nagios ?

i think about 2 ideas :

- change nagios script with adding the rrdtool update command
- there is an other ( which i don't know ) way ?

what is the good idea ?
