I'm not using SSL in the host..
and btw i'm using nrpe v1.8

I think the problem is more like Andreas descibes..
But I'm too much a newbie to check/fix this...
So maybe I'l have to live with it or find someone to help me.

/Brian

  Hi,

this seems to be a problem with SSL !!
If you have compiled NRPE on the Server with SSL
you have to it the same way on the client. This problem
is common when using precompiled daemons from RPMs ...

Another way to turn off SSL is to use the -n switch with check_nrpe

  check_nrpe -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -n -c $ARG1$

  ciao ;-)

Hi.. I have a problem with reply from NRPE

The remote host I'm trying to check have the following in /usr/local/etc/nrpe.cfg:
  command[check_total_procs]=/usr/local/libexec/nagios/check_procs -w 70 -c 150

when command is executes locally on the remote host it seams to work:
  /usr/local/libexec/nagios/check_procs -w 70 -c 150 giving
  OK - 13 processes running

  But when
  /usr/local/libexec/nagios/check_nrpe -H myhosthere -c check_total_procs ig get:
  Unable to read output

The rest of the checks on the remote hosts returns a fine output
Any idee whats going on ???
