Running Perl scripts and ssh with nagios

Hello,

I am using a custom perl script that uses nagios to ssh into a host and run a script, much the same way that check_ssh works. However, we cannot use check_ssh for other reasons. Here is the problem, whenever we run the script from the command line as the nagios user it works fine.

However, when we use it in nagios, via the checkcommands.cfg file, it fails. Is there something about the way nagios executes commands that would differ from the command line? I am using the same arguments, and the script is dying when it tries to open the ssh connection, yet no errors in the ssh logs, or nagios logs for that matter.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
