Help with Host checks

I have hosts setup with no services (on 2.0b1). I am trying to use
active checks only on the hosts. For some reason, I don't think that
the check is every occurring because my "host status detail" says (null)
under the "status information:
c12-idf10-w12 UP N/A 0d 0h 10m 27s+ (null)
Here is how my host.cfg is setup:
define host{
name noservice-host
notifications_enabled 1
active_checks_enabled 1
event_handler_enabled 1
flap_detection_enabled 1
low_flap_threshold 0
high_flap_threshold 0
process_perf_data 1
retain_status_information 1
retain_nonstatus_information 0
check_interval 1
passive_checks_enabled 1
max_check_attempts 5
notification_interval 5
notification_period 24x7
notification_options d,r
contact_groups nullcontact
register 0
}
define host{
use noservice-host
host_name c12-idf10-w12
alias c12-idf10-w12.joag.com
address 10.10.90.100
parents c37-idf10-m02
}
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? If I look at "view config" under
"hosts" I notice one strange thing: None of my hosts have "yes" under
"Enable Active Checks". Which I thought should be turned on since I am
setting both check_interval=1 and active_checks_enabled=1.
TIA!
