Hi,
I started to tune the format and content of our notifications. We use
Email, SMS and Winpopups. We want to use the $HOSTNOTES$ macro to add
contact addresses for hosts and services. This should be added to every
notification.
If I add the $HOSTNOTES$ macro(misccommands.cfg) and there are no notes
defined in hostextinfo.cfg for this host, instead of the (empty)
$HOSTNOTES$ macro a $ sign is added to the notification text. Can I avoid
this anyhow?
If someone acks a problem, I want to add the name of the person to the
notification that is send out. But if I add $HOSTACKAUTHOR$ or
$SERVICEACKAUTHOR$ to the (host-)notify-by-email/sms/winpopup definition,
and the $NOTIFICATIONTYPE$ macro is not set to "ACKNOWLEDGEMENT" (PROBLEM,
RECOLVERY...) a $ sign is added to the notification too.
Do I have to add additional notification commands if it may be possible
that some macros may not be present in a notification? I can't see how to
avoid the $ sign.
Ralf
