"check result" event handler?

Hi.

I'm using nagios 2.0b2 to monitor like 29 servers and network
equipment. I'm really happy with its set of features and flexibility
in general.

We even screwed two LCD monitors into the external datacenter wall so
we can monitor.

As I needed a custom web interface, I had to setup event handlers and
integrate nagios to mysql. That is working fine, except that, by
definition, nagios' services event handler will only be trigger when a
status changes.

That won't give me enough information. 

I'd like to know if there is any way to send all monitoring data to a
database using something like "check result event handlers", even if
status does not change.

One of my objectives is to build GD graphis using historic results of
certain data (eg, network usage, taken from switches).

I've read most (maybe all) of the documentation and the only way I've
think to solve this is kind of ugly: I'd use wrappers to call nagios
scripts, and these wrappers would handle database update...

What do you think?
