I choose to perform active service checks, rather than passive, at this
stage in my nagios configurating|testing|tuning project. With that in
mind...
I prefer check_nt with the NSClient++ service. Small footprint on the
windows side, and fairly robust. 2 gotchas That I'm willing to deal with
are;
1) The clear text password in NSC.ini, not a big deal, but still rubs me
the wrong way.
2) I have to restart the NSClient service every once in a while or it
starts refusing connections. I haven't tracked down why as yet, but I
don't think its the NSClient.
