Hi All,
After spending some time configuring new objects in Nagios (version 1.2) I
came to the following conclusions about object inheritance and hostgroups
configuration. Can someone confirm that these two points are correct? I
wasn't able to find a specific reference in the documentation.
Object Inheritance
There can only be one template use within an object configuration. Nagios
uses a hierarchy of inheritance, but does not support multiple object
inheritance. I.e. you cannot have multiple "use" variables in an object's
configuration.
Hostgroups Configuration
The nesting of hostgroups is not supported. I.e. you cannot add the
"hostgroup_name" of a hostgroup object to the "members" variable of another
hostgroup object.
Thank you your time and assistance.
