Docco bug I would say. Max_attempts was the terminology used for the old
(now deprecated), non-template host and service definitions (see
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1_0/xoddefault.html#service). It is
equivalent to the newer max_check_attempts option.

Max_attempts was never a valid template option. This is the resource for

That's not a valid template object variable. Like check_attempts, that
was the terminology used pre-templates for a specific notification
option. It has been superseded by 'notification_options' under the
template system. I don't see it referenced anywhere in the current
documentation. Where did you see it?
