If you need to retain proof then you have to build a new system and keep
the old one running untill eveything is OK and then store the old system
in a safe or something.
In my view you need to produce the reports from the old one and scratch it
as soon as you can do a month report on the new system that matches the
old one.
So how do you handle a broken disk on your Nagios system? If that happens
all your proof is down the drain as well I guess.
