service escalation - notification type

Hi list,
i want to create some service escalations but escalate the way notifications
are sent.
For example i want first 5 notifcations sent through mail , 6th with
sms , and the rest with mail again. All notification will be sent with
to the same persons.

How can i change the way sms notifications are sent to the same
person? The only way i have thought is to duplicate the groups but
this is unmanagable for many contcts.
Any other idea?
