How do I monitor a specific log message?

No, That didn't occur to me till now.
Ok, Lets suppose I mount my path on samba and cat the result with cat
and grep. How do I put this onto nagios?
And there is a problem here... This should return and OK or NOT OK for
example. I'm still clueless about how to do that.

Hi - you can probably write a shell-script "wrapper" around your
check_whatever plugin and make it return whatever you wish - This is an
overly complex example, but should show you what I mean:
