check snmp

Melanie, take a look at nagios-snmp plugins -
http://nagios.manubulon.com/


For example, the custom command in commands.cfg to check for snmpd
service on a windows box would be 

define command{
        command_name check_snmp_win
        command_line $USER1$/check_snmp_win.pl -H $HOSTADDRESS$
communityname -n $ARG1$
        }

(Obviously, $ARG1% is the windows service name - as for unix, you would
use something like this:

/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_snmp_process -H 10.14.1.07 -C public -2
-n snmpd

OK : 1 process matching snmpd(> 0)
