Hi

We have encountered a problem where external commands are sometimes truncated in nagios.

>From nagios.log
...snip...
[1227197089] EXTERNAL COMMAND: PROCESS_SERVICE_CHECK_RESULT;IKUL TMNET Kuala Lumpur;soa;1;alert - soa:2006091404 from 2006-09-14 10:00 2 years, 2 months, 6 days, 23 hours, 28 minutes old.
[1227197089] Warning: Unrecognized external command -> PRO;
[1227197089] EXTERNAL COMMAND: PROCESS_SERVICE_CHECK_RESULT;ITOK WIDE Tokyo;soa;0;ok - soa:2008112007 from 2008-11-20 16:00 1 hour, 4 minutes old.
...snip...

The data is trunkated inconsistently
...snip...
[1227197987] Warning: Unrecognized external command -> PROCESS_SERVICE_CHECK_R;
[1227198048] Warning: Unrecognized external command -> PROCESS_SERVICE_CHEC;
...snip...

We have some 150 checks coming in this way every minute where every command is processed correctly most of the time but roughly 5 times/hour this happens at random.
The output from the script putting data to nagios.cmd is already checked and clean.

It looks very much to me that the data is beeing trunkated somehow?

Recently we upgraded one of our nagios servers from OpenBSD3.9/nagios2.3 to OpenBSD4.4/nagios3.0.3 (everything from packages) on this server. The configs are basicly the same after the upgrade.
On the old system this has never happened according to the logs.
At first we were looking at various parameters like "external_command_buffer_slots" but nothing has made any difference so far.
Also tried to search the archives but no luck.

Thanks for your time
