Nagios Monitoring with out NRPE

I got  the following error

node name or service name not known
HTTP CRITICAL - Unable to open TCP socket


I could able to resolve it using the following

 /check_http -w 5 -c 10  -H
www.mysite.com<http://www.mysite.com/subDomain/index.html>
 -u /subDomain/index.htm <http://www.mysite.com/subDomain/index.html>l
