I see you're testing locally as root. That has bitten me more than once.

please excuse the newbie question, but I'm having issues with NRPE
returning inconsistent results
on the local machine :
#./check_mycheck
result ? 1 <--- critical
on the nagios server :
./check_nrpe -H myhost -c check_mycheck
result? 0 <--- OK
how can this happen ?
