It would only work if the host/service did not return to an OK state
before your next trouble. Otherwise you would use the Scheduled Downtime
feature or the schedule_[*]_downtime external commands in that case.
Your questions have been more appropriate for the nagios-users mailing
list and you'll find a much larger population of users to answer your
questions there. This list is primarily about nagios-specific
development or bug reporting (generally after finding no answer on the
-users list).
