On the one hand it might prevent miscalculating<br>during reports but in my mind it's just easier.<br>Currently we're reinstalling many of our systems. The first a system is<br>getting back after new OS installation is the IP address and one of the<br>last things is the nrpe installation. Most of the reinstall time the<br>system is available through the hostcheck but the services aren't.<br><br>I'm not sure if service notifications were surpressed if only the host<br>is within a downtime... Our operational crew mainly work with "viewing<br>the nagios" instead of reading it's notifications and on the CGIs it<br>looks a little confusing if the host is up (but in downtime), some<br>additional services like snmptrap or "ping" service are OK but other are<br>not.<br><br>The command itself isn't a new one.
