Problem staring nagios

Hi All,

I have done a standard install of nagios-1.0 and i get the following when trying to start the service:

[1039484421] Nagios 1.0 starting... (PID=15762)
[1039484421] Finished daemonizing... (New PID=15763)
[1039484421] Caught SIGSEGV, shutting down...

then I tried to verify my setup and got this:

[cricket at pa-linux-01 var]$ /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
Segmentation fault


..this is the second install, i thought the first got corrupted...
