Looking for plug-in to Monitor Oracle Instance s

Greg,

I use check_oracle under the plugins-scripts subdirectory, but with the
patches I've put on sourceforge. The --login option does a dummy login and
then checks for the correct ORA-01017 error. This is better than the --db
and --tns checks as it picks up other error conditions. I recently got a
"CRITICAL - ORA-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server
process" which was due to lack of swap space...
