Actually, I create templates for each service instead and place them in a
directory.
Then I replace
cfg_file=hosts.cfg
cfg_file=services.cfg
I use the following:
cfg_dir=host1
cfg_dir=host2
cfg_dir=routers/router1
cfg_dir=routers/router2
etc...
(of course I still have hosts.cfg and services.cfg with generic-host and
generic-service)

Sorry, I just read the documentation a bit deeper and found the "trick"
that allows me to specify multiple hosts per service. This looks even
better. :)
