Running Nagios on Solaris

Good morning,

	i considered running on Solaris 8 box here and was doing proof of
concept.  My problem comes in that i am a consultant setting the Network
Monitoring server up for hand-over to the client.

	Although i was successful in getting it built and installed on
Solaris, i had to make a few code modifications.

	Additionally, support lies heavily in favour of Linux installations.
This is what tilted the scales for me.  i needed the best possible support
and it is my opinion that the broader base of Nagios users running Linux
provided this.

No problems.

running on sol 8 with 35 hosts, 99 services, active and passive checks,
informix, oracle, windoze sql server, exchange and all this in a proof of
consept...going live end november ....
