illegal_macro_output_chars

Good morning,

	i just added a few hosts to my nagios 1.0b6 config, ran the
verification, and saw this error at the bottom of the message:

Warning: Nothing specified for illegal_macro_output_chars variable!

What is this?  Where do i begin to look?
