Check_ifstatus / SNMP.pm problem

Executing /usr/bin/perldoc Net::SNMP as root (or as su to root) produces
the error message about superuser (Superuser must not run
/usr.bin/perldoc without security audit and taint checks.)
Executing it as my account produces the man doc pages. The top snippet
is "SNMP - The Perl5 'SNMP' Extension Module v3.1.0 for the UCD SNMPv3
Library.
I checked my path again. I also ran a "find / -name perl" and found
four locations with a perl file. However, only one of those /usr/bin is
within the PATH variable.
Also, if I do "type perl" I am told perl is /usr/bin/perl

what does /usr/bin/perldoc Net::SNMP show?
check your path - you may have another installation of perl 5.6.1 under
/usr/local before /usr/bin.
