supress unreachable messages

I'm curious: Does 'unreachable' also apply to plugins which timeout?
I'm still dealing with the issue of the check_log2 (Perl-based) plugin which
randomly times out (when checked via NRPE). The client is Solaris-based.
I don't have the timeout problems with any other NRPE plugin on those exact
same Solaris boxes. It would be great if I could put in the logic of "if
the NRPE times out for this service, I don't want to be notified", at least
for pages. (I still wouldn't mind seeing the e-mails, in case I eventually
do notice a relationship with some other event on said hosts.)
