Scheduling downtime extremely slow

Hi,

I'm having a problem with scheduling downtime for hosts. When scheduling 
downtime for the first time after a Nagios restart, the cgi takes several 
minutes to complete the request and give the confirmation. Subsequent downtime 
scheduling is extremely quick and completes in under a second. Is there a 
reason why the initial scheduling is so slow? Is this normal behavior? If not, 
has anyone else had this problem?
