I had the same problem but got around it.
For me openssl is installed in /usr/local/ssl and the binary is in
/usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl
So I added both /usr/local/ssl and /usr/local/ssl/bin to my PATH and then
deleted configure.cache and reran the configure with
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nagios --with-nagios-user=nagios
--with-nagios-group=nagios --with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl
This may be slightly different for you depending upon where openssl is
installed..

Hi
After i do the reconfiguration:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nagios
--with-nagios-user=nagios
--with-nagios-group=nagios --with-openssl=/usr/include/openssl (or
/usr/include)
it find Open SSL propperly but i keep saw the message "check_http:
invalid option - SSL is not available" When i check https
Is something missing and i don't know what. Can someone help me????????
