problems with snmpget & APAN

This is a long shot, but....
I've seen weird things happen in the past (not with Nagios) when a
particular hostname had uppercase characters in it. You might want to
reconfig Nagios (and /etc/hosts and/or DNS, if that's how you're resolving
hostnames) to use just lowercase characters. At the very least, create a
hostname alias in /etc/hosts or DNS and definitely try using lowercase in
your Nagios configs.
This might not be the problem at all, but....
