Quirky issues - ditto (earn $100)

I had to stop the Nagios service and delete the status.sav file and then
restart it for everything to clear out. 

So for now I am going to leave 'use_retained_program_state=0' and see what
happens.

thats...curious.  You're sure you saved the config after changing it?

Change it, then do `grep use_retained_program_state nagios.cfg` and make
sure it's what you set it to before restarting.
